Descrizione:
The vinery Surrau comes out from a project presented at the Italian Pavilion during the thirteenth exhibition of the Venice Architecture Biennale. Surrounded by the vineyard, the winery is located on the Arzachena plain, on the Costa Smeralda road. The architectural structure is in perfect harmony with the uncontaminated surrounding landscape of Gallura, consisting of gentle hills where large green sweeps draw a territory of rare beauty. The cellar consists of two floors, for a total of 2500 square meters. Local stone walls alternate with transparent facades, and the Cotto Possagno tiles crown the roof which culminates in a glass skylight. For the building in a green perspective, materials chosen are environmentally friendly. The Cotto Possagno tiles were chosen both for their perfect integration with the landscape and for their green characteristics. Terracotta, obtained from clay, is an ancient and natural material which, due to its properties, makes the building breathable.
